Plagiarism Screening Policy
International Journal of Cyber and IT Service Management (IJCITSM) maintains strict anti-plagiarism standards to ensure the originality and integrity of published scholarly work. All submitted manuscripts are screened for text similarity prior to entering the peer-review process and before final publication.
Screening Process and Thresholds
01
Detection Tool
All submissions are processed using Turnitin and iThenticate similarity detection software.
02
Similarity Threshold
20%
The maximum allowable overall similarity index is 20%.
03
Single-Source Limit
3%
Similarity to any single published source must not exceed 3% (excluding standard bibliography, method formulas, and direct quotations with proper citation).
Policy on Plagiarism and Misconduct
01
Minor Overlap
20% – 25%
The manuscript will be returned to the authors for revision and mandatory rephrasing before re-evaluation.
02
Substantial Plagiarism
> 25%
The manuscript will be rejected immediately without entering the peer-review stage.
03
Self-Plagiarism
Authors must appropriately cite their own prior published works. Slicing data or republishing previously published findings without proper attribution is strictly unacceptable.
04
Post-Publication Discovery
If plagiarism, falsified data, or duplicate submission is identified post-publication, IJCITSM will take formal corrective action, including issuing an Erratum, Expression of Concern, or full Article Retraction in accordance with COPE guidelines.
